The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) worked with Wondros to develop the Ultimate MS Treatment Guide, an intuitive, multi-media digital platform that guides Multiple Sclerosis (MS) patients and their caregivers through the complexity of different treatment options. The Guide officially launched on August 16th.

Background

MS is a disease of the central nervous system which reduces communication between the brain and nerve pathways and causes a variety of symptoms, such as muscle spasms, fatigue, and vision problems. While nearly 1 million people live with MS in the United States, researchers don’t fully understand the cause of the disease and continue to search for a cure.

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of all people with MS by providing informational resources, communities, advocacy, and access to testing and support equipment. Executive leaders at MSAA have long understood that there is great inequality in MS care among American patients, depending on where they receive healthcare, insurance coverage, and even age.

In an effort to narrow this gap and provide patients with trustworthy information about treatment options that they may not hear about through their non-specialist healthcare teams, Wondros helped MSAA envision a new digital tool. The goal was to encourage patients’ self-advocacy for better treatment through a navigable, comprehensive guide featuring unbiased, high-quality treatment information from leading MS experts.

MSAA trusted Wondros with the design of this crucial tool because we previously worked together to build a COVID-19 Navigator tool for MS patients.

How We Did It

Wondros found that this type of platform didn’t exist in the United States, so we looked far and wide to find benchmarks and conducted in-depth interviews with subject matter experts to understand the MSAA audience’s core needs and to define the product’s parameters.
