In partnership with the Office of the Governor, California Volunteers leads statewide efforts to strengthen community disaster preparedness and climate resilience. Through the ongoing Neighbor-to-Neighbor Education and Outreach Initiative, Wondros created public awareness campaigns that encourage residents to connect with neighbors, share resources, and prepare for emergencies. By addressing the barriers and motivations behind neighborhood connection, this initiative fosters community relationships that build resilience against wildfires, climate events, and other disasters—turning awareness into action at the local level.
